The brand

Where is Calton Brown from?

London. Calton Brown Ltd (Company No. 17230415) was founded and incorporated in Covent Garden, England. The address is 75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ, should you wish to send a postcard.

Does British mean every piece is made in Britain?

No. Britain is where the brand was founded, shaped and incorporated. Manufacturing can take place internationally, and where we state a country of origin it is accurate. We would rather be precisely honest than vaguely patriotic.

What does owning a Calton Brown piece mean?

It means owning something designed to be worn on Monday and still make sense on Thursday. Our principle is defined by restraint, sustained by routine: considered proportion, honest material and a finish you notice after the first impression, not only before it. We read the label as a promise to the wardrobe, not a request for attention.

What occasions does Calton Brown work for?

The ones that happen in a week rather than a year. The morning meeting, the afternoon flight, dinner on arrival, the train home. Our customer moves between cities, and the clothes are cut to move with him. For a black tie evening, we would sooner send you to a tailor than pretend.

Are you a B-Corp?

No. We are not B Corp certified, and we do not use the badge or borrow the language. Certification is earned through assessment, and we would rather be honestly uncertified than loosely certified. If we ever hold a certification, we will publish it with the evidence. Until then, our Our Values and Modern Slavery & Responsible Supply pages say what we stand for and what we do not claim.

Do you give back to the community?

Yes, and we would rather say it quietly than loudly. We help look after orphans in Uganda alongside the Hope of Joy Foundation. We take part in community food distribution in South Africa. Through Heart of a Child, a programme dedicated to protecting vulnerable children, we run outreach with college students in countries such as the Philippines. We also contribute towards donations to organisations providing basic necessities in conflict affected countries, including Palestine, Sudan and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. We do not publish figures we cannot substantiate, and if we ever tie a donation to a purchase, we will say so on the offer itself. More is on our Community Projects page.

How closely do you monitor your supply chain?

Proportionately to our size, and no more loudly than that. We set the specification for each product and work with international manufacturing and fulfilment partners to make it. We expect those partners to comply with employment, workplace, anti trafficking and human rights law. We do not currently operate a third party audit programme and we do not claim one. As we grow, we intend to strengthen supplier documentation and review. The full position is on our Modern Slavery & Responsible Supply and Supply Pipeline pages.

Are the product images real or AI generated?

Some presentation imagery, including models and settings, is created or enhanced with AI, and we label it as such. We never use AI to change how a garment looks: colour, fabric, texture, cut, stitching, hardware and labels are left as they are. Every product page carries reference photography of the actual item, and the written measurements and description take priority over any presentation image. The details are in our Terms of Sale, section 5.

Sizing and choosing

How do I choose my size?

Use the size guide and garment measurements on the product page. Models, whether photographed or digitally generated, are there to show the piece, not to predict how it will fit you. If you are between sizes, email info@caltonbrown.com with the product and your measurements and we will help you choose.

Ordering and delivery

Where do you deliver?

To 43 countries, listed in our Shipping Policy. If your country is not on the list, checkout will not offer a delivery option.

How long will my order take?

We aim to dispatch within 2 working days of payment. Delivery windows for Standard and Express are shown at checkout for your address. They are estimates, not promises made to the minute.

Will I pay duties, taxes or VAT when it arrives?

Possibly. Import duties and taxes are not included in our prices or delivery charges. Depending on your country and the value of your order, customs or the carrier may ask you to pay import duty, import VAT or sales tax, and sometimes a clearance fee, on or before delivery. The amount is set by your country’s customs authority, so we cannot calculate it in advance, and we recommend checking your local rules before you order. We are not currently registered for VAT, so we do not add VAT to your order. If your parcel is held, the carrier will contact you with payment instructions. More, including what to do if your parcel is held or you refuse it, is on our Customs, Duties & Taxes page.

How do I track my order?

Your dispatch email contains your tracking details. You can also use our Track Order page. If you cannot find the email, write to orders@caltonbrown.com with your order number.

Can I change or cancel my order?

Before dispatch, yes. Email orders@caltonbrown.com straight away with your order number. After dispatch, the order is treated as a return.

Is my payment secure?

Payments are processed through Shopify Payments and the payment methods shown at checkout. We do not see or store your full card details. We may run security checks on an order and ask you to confirm your details before we dispatch it.

Returns and rights

What is the Return Policy & Right of Withdrawal?

You may cancel for any reason within 14 days of receiving your order, and you then have a further 14 days to send the goods back. In South Africa the statutory period is 7 days, and we honour whichever is longer for you. Return the goods unworn, unwashed and with all tags, by a tracked service. For a change of mind, return postage is yours. For a faulty, damaged or incorrect item, it is ours. Refunds go back to your original payment method within 14 days of us receiving the goods or proof of postage.

Customers in the European Union have a dedicated Right of Withdrawal, with a model withdrawal form, in section 11.3 of our Terms of Sale. Everyone will find the full terms in our Refunds, Returns & Cancellations policy. Statutory rights always apply, whatever the page says.

Do you offer exchanges?

Yes, for a different size of the same style, subject to stock. Email returns@caltonbrown.com with your order number and the size you would like.

What if my item is faulty or not what I ordered?

Email returns@caltonbrown.com with your order number and clear photographs. We will investigate and provide the remedy the law requires, and we cover the return postage.

Privacy and advertising

Why do I see Calton Brown adverts, and can I switch them off?

We use the Meta Pixel and Google tags to measure our advertising and to show our adverts to people who may be interested. In the UK, the EU and other places where the law requires it, we ask for your consent first. Wherever you are, you can turn off personalised adverts at any time through the privacy controls on our website, your browser, your device settings, and your Meta and Google account ad settings.
